A bot needs an exchange connection to read market and account data. Live bots also need permission to place and cancel orders. New trading connections currently focus on Binance. Kraken and Bybit remain implemented and their existing records are preserved, but new or risk-increasing actions are marked Coming soon while work continues.

Create a limited API key

Open API management in your exchange account and create a dedicated key for BotTradesForYou. Enable read access and the trading permission required for the market you plan to use.

Do not enable withdrawals. The platform does not need permission to transfer funds away from your exchange. If your exchange supports IP restrictions, add the platform IP shown during setup. Keep the secret out of notes, screenshots, chat messages, and source code.

Add and verify the connection

In the BotTradesForYou dashboard:

  1. Open Exchanges and choose Add exchange.
  2. Select Binance. Kraken and Bybit appear disabled while they are postponed.
  3. Enter the API key and secret.
  4. Run the connection test.
  5. Save only after the test confirms the credentials and permissions.

Credentials are encrypted at rest. The connection status in the dashboard tells you whether Binance is reachable and whether the supplied key can be used. If you already have a postponed-exchange bot, the platform retains its history and risk-reducing controls, such as stopping and closing exposure; it does not delete the integration or force a liquidation.

Resolve connection errors

If verification fails, check for copied spaces, an expired or revoked key, missing read or trading permissions, an incorrect IP restriction, or a temporary exchange rate limit. Create a new key if a secret may have been exposed. After verification succeeds, create the first bot in paper mode before considering live orders.
